About WHPW

Harpswell Radio Project, Inc.

The Harpswell Radio Project, Inc. was formed in 2013 to create a public-access, low-power FM, community radio station, WHPW-LP, in Harpswell, Maine. We received our FCC Construction Permit in 2013; our 501(c)3 designation in 2015; and our FCC License in 2017. HRP’s goal is to provide a volunteer outlet for individuals and organizations to produce and air uniquely diverse and local content they have produced. The broadcast goals are to give a voice to residents that will strengthen the weave of this unique community. Whether broadcast over the airways or streamed online, WHPW-LP would reach the year-round and summer communities of Harpswell.

All are welcome to become involved with local radio. You, as an individual, or your group can be on the air or you can help out in other “behind-the-scenes” ways such as production, office organization, or fundraising. You might be a student; you might be an expert in a field; or have a passion for a particular subject and wish to share that; you might be an aficionado of a particular type of music or performance. This is an opportunity to put it out there. Join us
